Teaching on Swift Bestowal of Blessings with Do Tulku Rinpoche

In September, for our Text of the Month event, we welcomed Do Tulku Rinpoche, who gave a teaching on Swift Bestowal of Blessings: A Supplication Calling the Sources of Refuge from Afar.
In this talk, Rinpoche introduced the Sakya Lamdré tradition, outlining its origins in India, its transmission into Tibet, and its development within the Sakya school. He explained the main stages of the path, including renunciation and bodhicitta, the view beyond conceptual elaboration, the generation and completion stages, and the role of samaya commitments.
Alongside these explanations, Rinpoche shared stories from the life of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo—his early recognition and training with the Thartse masters, and later his decision to move outside narrow institutional expectations and seek teachings widely across Tibet. These accounts place his path within the story of how Lamdré was practiced and transmitted.
Do Tulku Rinpoche was recognized by His Holiness Kyabgon Gongma Trichen Rinpoche as the reincarnation of the 5th Raktrul Rinpoche. He is the resident lama and spiritual guide of Arya Tara’s Net, an online community and center for Buddhist studies and practice in Germany. Rinpoche is also one of KVP’s in-house reviewers and expert traditional scholars and provides guidance on difficult translation points to both our translation team and editors.
