Droplets of Nectar

Our October text of the month is Droplets of Nectar: A Vajra Song Summarizing the Vital Points of the Stages of the Profound Path.
Despite its brevity, this lamrim text is remarkably comprehensive. Droplets of Nectar focuses on the practitioner’s gradual progression along the spiritual path. It begins with the four thoughts that turn the mind to the Dharma and proceeds through the preliminaries of refuge, bodhicitta, accumulating merit, and purifying obscurations. The song then moves through the stages of Tantra, from Mahāyoga and Anuyoga to the Great Perfection of Atiyoga, all presented in relation to the Lotus-Born Guru. In the end, the gradual path opens into the immediacy of realization through union with Guru Rinpoche.

Text of the Month teaching with Lama Tsering Everest
For the main teaching on this text we were honored to welcome back Lama Tsering Everest, resident lama and director of Chagdud Gonpa Odsal Ling. Lama Tsering guided us through the text line by line and introduced the practice of contemplation and relaxation—thinking deeply about the teachings with compassion, then dropping the thoughts to rest in open awareness, recognizing the guru’s presence in every moment.
Lama Tsering, a close disciple and translator of H.E. Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche, upholds the compassionate and direct approach of her own teacher through emphasizing devotion, mind training, and the application of the Dharma in daily life.

During this discussion, we’ll explore the heart of Droplets of Nectar—devotion to Guru Rinpoche as the source of all blessing and realization. Through selected passages, we’ll look at how the text guides practitioners in cultivating this devotion. The session will include time for questions and conclude with a guided meditation.
