Khyentse Lineage Empowerments — Malaysia 2026
This page gathers the practice texts for the empowerments being given at this event. The cycles represented here span some of the most important treasure teachings of the Khyentse lineage—from the five herukas of the Eight Pronouncements to the ḍākinī cycle of Krodhīkālī, from Padmasambhava in his most majestic form to the longevity practices of the Sublime Lady of Immortality. Texts will be added as each empowerment is given.
The Eight Pronouncements (Kagye)
These transmissions came to Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo in the spring of 1867, when, during a stay at Dzongshö Deshek Dupé Podrang in eastern Tibet, he had a vision in which he traveled to the Śaṅkarakūṭa stūpa near Bodhgaya. There, the eight manifestations of Guru Rinpoche appeared and one after the other bestowed on him the aural transmissions of the Eight Pronouncements. The following five will be given at this event.
Heruka of enlightened speech
Tachok Rölpe Nyingtik: The Heart Essence of Supreme Hayagrīva Display
Hayagrīva is the heruka of enlightened speech—fierce, horse-headed, and renowned for his power to extend life and restore vital energy. This practice, transmitted to Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo directly by Guru Rinpoche in the form of Guru Pema Gyalpo, draws on the wisdom realization of the Indian vidyādhara Nāgārjuna. Through visualization, mantra recitation, and the invocation of the deity’s blessings, practitioners cultivate long life and vitality while planting the seeds for recognizing the deathless nature of mind. The lineage supplication was composed by Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö.

Jampal Shinje Tugtik: The Heart Essence of Mañjuśrī Yamāntaka
Yamāntaka is the wrathful form of Mañjuśrī, bodhisattva of wisdom—also known as Vajrabhairava, the great conqueror of the four māras, including Yama, the Lord of Death himself. This practice, transmitted to Khyentse Wangpo by Guru Rinpoche in the form of Loden Chogse, traces back to the wisdom realization of the Indian vidyādhara Mañjuśrīmitra. Renowned for overcoming obstacles for oneself and others, this is one of the most powerful means of compassion within the Eight Pronouncements cycle. The lineage prayer was composed by Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa.
Heruka of enlightened mind
Yangdak Zabtik: The Profound Essence of Viśuddha Heruka
Viśuddha Heruka—Yangdak Heruka in Tibetan—is the heruka of enlightened mind, and one of the most direct paths to the highest realization within the Eight Pronouncements cycle. This practice traces back to the wisdom realization of the Indian vidyādhara Hūṃkāra, transmitted to Khyentse Wangpo by Guru Rinpoche as a direct aural transmission during the extraordinary 1867 vision at Bodhgaya. The lineage prayer was composed by Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa.

Mamo Netik: The Vital Essence of the Mamos
The mamos are the fierce feminine forces that govern the energies of saṃsāric existence—wild, powerful, and not to be ignored. This practice, revealed by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo and arranged into its current concise form by Dilgo Khyentse, offers a daily engagement with these forces, learning to call and command them on the path to liberation. The lineage supplication was composed by Dilgo Khyentse Tashi Paljor, and the sādhana itself traces back to the wisdom realization of the Indian vidyādhara Dhanasaṃskṛta, transmitted to Khyentse Wangpo directly by Guru Rinpoche in the form of Nyima Özer.

Netik Purba: The Vital Point of the Kīlaya
Vajrakīlaya is the wrathful form of Vajrasattva, embodying the enlightened activity of all the buddhas—and among all yidam practices, few are as renowned for cutting through obstacles and purifying obscurations in these degenerate times. Particularly treasured as a powerful means of compassion, this practice clears the path for oneself and others. Transmitted to Khyentse Wangpo by Guru Rinpoche in the form of Śākya Sengé, it traces back to the wisdom realization of the Indian vidyādhara Prabhāhasti. The lineage prayer was composed by Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa.
The lineage prayer was translated by Adam Pearcey and previously published by Lotsawa House in 2022. The daily yoga was translated by Gyurme Avertin for Rigpa in 2018.

Khandro Sangdu: The Gathering of the Ḍākinī’s Secrets
Originally discovered by the thirteenth-century treasure revealer Jomo Menmo and later rediscovered by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, the Khandro Sangdu cycle centers on Krodhīkālī—a wrathful black ḍākinī who is a particular form of Vajravārāhī. The cycle is especially renowned for its power to overcome environmental degradation and epidemics through the restoration of samaya. This compilation brings together a lineage supplication, a complete daily yoga compiled by Jamgön Kongtrul as the essential liturgy for both beginners and advanced practitioners, and an aspiration prayer in thirty-three stanzas composed by Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö during the session breaks of a 1927 practice intensive.
Tsasum Drildrub: The Three Roots Combined into One
First revealed by Sangye Lama in the eleventh century and later rediscovered by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo—who received the teaching directly from Sangye Lama appearing to him in person—this terma centers on Padmasambhava in the form of Nangsi Zilnon, He Who Majestically Subjugates Appearance and Existence, together with the peaceful and wrathful deities of the Padma family. Within the Rinchen Terdzö, it holds a remarkable place: it is said that a lineage master who completes only the Tsasum Drildrub retreat will be fully qualified to transmit the entire two-hundred-volume collection.

Vima Ladrub: Essence of Blessings — A Guru Sādhana
The Vima Ladrub centers on Vimalamitra—one of the three immortal vidyādharas, alongside Padmasambhava and Śrī Siṃha—who is said to remain alive to this day, residing at Mount Wutai in China, having attained mastery over his own body and life force through the practice of White Tārā. Though rooted in Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo’s Heart Essence of Deathless Ārya Tārā treasure cycle, the Vima Ladrub holds an independent status in the Khyentse lineage as one of the two main presentations of Atiyoga—representing, according to Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, its vast aspect. This lineage prayer, composed by Dilgo Khyentse Tashi Paljor, is recited before the main sādhana practice and invokes the blessings of the three immortal vidyādharas and the masters of the lineage.

Korwa Dongtruk: He Who Churns the Depths of Saṃsāra
A revealed treasure of Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa, Korwa Dongtruk is a practice of red Avalokiteśvara performed to benefit those who have passed away, their families and relatives, and ourselves at the moment of death. Through visualization and mantra recitation, this practice—known as a “name inscription” ritual—prepares practitioners for the bardo of death and is renowned for its power to liberate beings from the difficult rebirths of saṃsāra. Meant for our day and age, it is one of the most direct and effective practices of compassion for those navigating the transition between lives.
