Illuminating the Prajñāpāramitā: Teachings on the Heart Sutra

As the inaugural event of the Text of the Month initiative, KVP hosted a special two-day livestream teaching with Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche on the Heart Sūtra, exploring Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo’s commentary “The Light of Definitive Meaning”—a profound text on emptiness written when the author was only seventeen. Rinpoche was incredibly generous in sharing his extraordinary insight and knowledge with the participants.

Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche is a renowned Buddhist master who received extensive training in all major traditions of Tibetan Buddhism under the guidance of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, and Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche. He is the head of the Mangala Shri Bhuti global sangha and established a mountain retreat center, Longchen Jigme Samten Ling, in southern Colorado. When not guiding students in long-term retreat and not in retreat himself, Rinpoche travels widely throughout the world teaching Buddhism.

Recordings of these teachings are available for viewing on our YouTube channel: Day 1, Day 2.
