Mother of All Buddhas: Teaching on Ārya Tārā with Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche

In celebration of Khyentse Foundation’s 25th anniversary, Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche gave a teaching on Ārya Tārā on International Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026.

During the session, Rinpoche explored why Tārā is known as the Mother of All Buddhas, examining her both as Prajñāpāramitā—the wisdom from which all buddhas arise—and as a protectress who responds with swift compassion to the fears and needs of every generation. Rinpoche shared how Tārā became Khyentse Foundation’s guardian deity, and explained the meaning of the 21 Tārās and her countless manifestations.

Rinpoche emphasized that the true meaning of all our prayers and aspirations is to become Tārā—and that this is the very path to liberation.
