Sean Price

Project Consultant & Contributing Translator
Sean is a long-term Buddhist practitioner and translator of liturgical texts for Shechen Monastery. He is also the director of Tibetan publications for Tsadra Foundation. Sean advises the project on issues related to the Tibetan source text and critical editions.

Sean Price (Gelong Ngawang Tenzin Jamchen) has a degree in engineering. He has lived in Asia for more than thirty years, and has been a monk since 1994. He has resided at Shechen Monastery in Nepal since 1999. Under the guidance of Kyabje Shechen Rabjam Rinpoche, Sean locates and preserves rare Tibetan books and translates liturgical texts. He is the director of Tibetan publications for Tsadra Foundation, and in this capacity he has helped to produce thousands of Tibetan texts and e-books. 

Sean has translated practice books for Shechen (mainly the termas of Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche) and is a regular contributor to Lotsawa House. He has published The Supreme Siddhi of Mahamudra: Teachings, Poems, and Songs of the Drukpa Kagyu Lineage (Snow Lion Publications, 2017); The Emanated Scripture of Manjushri: Shabkar’s Essential Meditation Instructions (Snow Lion Publications, 2019); and The Collected Minor Writings of Khenpo Gangshar (Nalanda Translation Publications, 2021).

Sean’s current translation projects include Answers to Questions Concerning Profound Meditation by Jigme Lingpa; The Emanated Scripture of the Bodhisattva by Shabkar; A Collection of Nyingtik Instructions – Garab Dorje to Khenpo Ngawong Palsang; and Essence of Nectar – the Lamrim of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo with a commentary by Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche,  which he will kindly share with Khyentse Vision Project.
