Morten Ostensen

Project Consultant
Morten Ostensen is the digital curator for the Research Department of Tsadra Foundation, where he works to create digital editions of major Tibetan literary collections, as well as other online resources developed by the research team and their collaborators. Morten will be working closely with our project, so that we can link our translations to the source material.

Morten was a frequent resident of Nepal from the mid-1990s until 2015, where he has studied Buddhism as an undergraduate, a graduate student, and a doctoral candidate, as well as in more traditional settings. His doctoral research at the Kathmandu University, Centre for Buddhist Studies (Rangjung Yeshe Institute), is on the Great Perfection mind series traditions (rdzogs chen sems sde lugs).

Morten is working on publishing the Tibetan source texts for the Khyentse Wangpo collections for Tsadra Foundation as part of their project to publish the entire Tibetan texts of the Khyentse lineage masters. Khyentse Vision Project will work closely with him to link our translations to the digital Tibetan texts he is curating. Morten currently lives in upstate New York with his wife and daughter.
