Pema Maya worked with the editorial team as an associate editor. She coordinated translator contracts, managed communications and workflow for translation projects, and provided content editorial input with oversight from Khyentse Vision Project’s senior editors. Pema Maya also managed our Training & Internship Program and the design of our collaborative online courses. She brought extensive practical experience in developing and delivering engaging educational programs to her role.

A long-term student of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, Pema Maya has studied and practiced under his guidance since 1995. In 1997, she began her study of classical Tibetan at the Manjushree Institute, Darjeeling. From 2006 to 2009, she lived on site at Dzongsar Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö Institute in Bir, developing and teaching an English language program, and continuing her study of Tibetan language. She assisted as a trainee editor on Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche’s project to translate The Life and Times of Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö, by Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche (Shambhala Publications, 2017).

Pema Maya currently studies Buddhist philosophy in Khyentse Foundation’s Milinda teacher training program, and enjoys immersing herself in the writings of the Khyentse lineage masters.
