Shey Rigel

In-house Translator & Translation Memory Coordinator
Shey is one of our in-house translators and is spearheading the Khyentse Vision Project Translation Memory implementation, which will provide easily searchable digital “translation memories,” allowing a translator to see how certain words or phrases have been previously translated. This will enhance the speed, consistency, and quality of our translations, as well as contribute to the creation of innovative digital tools for the wider translation community and students of Tibetan language.

Shey studied in Nepal at Pullahari monastery and at Rangjung Yeshe Institute, where he earned a BA and MA. He also served as a Teacher’s Assistant for Rangjung Yeshe Institute and has worked on the 84000 Translation Memory project.

Shey currently lives in Nepal and was a successful intern in the Khyentse Vision Project Internship & Training Program.
